Fugitives apprehended: FIA Lahore Busts illegal Hawala Hundi syndicate

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in Lahore has intensified its crackdown on human smuggling and individuals involved in the “Hawala Hundi” scam.

In a recent raid, FIA apprehended four suspects linked to visa fraud, human trafficking, and hawala hundi.

The arrested individuals include fugitives Muhammad Ayub and Rana Abdul Sattar, both wanted since 2016, along with Muhammad Ahmed, implicated in human trafficking, and Muhammad Tufail, involved in the Hawala Hundi scheme.

According to the FIA spokesperson, the accused were found to have collected substantial sums of money from citizens under false pretenses of facilitating their travel abroad. Of particular note is the case of Muhammad Ayub, who had been evading court appearances since 2016, and Rana Abdul Sattar, who had been on the wanted list since the same year.

Moreover, Mohammad Ahmed was allegedly involved in human trafficking and was also wanted by the FIA. Additionally, Muhammad Tufail was implicated in the Hawala Hundi scheme.

During the raid, authorities seized a significant amount of cash totaling Rs 750,000, along with evidence related to the Hawala Hundi operation.

The arrested individuals are currently under investigation, and efforts are underway to apprehend their accomplices. The FIA remains committed to combating such illegal activities and ensuring justice for the victims of these crimes.
