Former French President Nicolas Sarkozy sentenced

PARIS (Imran Y. CHOUDHRY):- Former French President Nicolas Sarkozy was sentenced to one year in prison in the 2012 presidential election for falsified bills of campaign expenses finance scandal, known as the Bygmalion case.

It should be remembered that earlier Nicolas Sarkozy was sentenced by the court to 3 years, one year of imprisonment and two years of warning.

Against which former French President Nicolas Sarkozy appealed, the verdict was handed down today and found him and other co-accused guilty of fraud and manipulation.

Another case against him in 2025, in which Nicolas Sarkozy is accused of taking huge sums of money from Libya and other countries in his presidential election campaign, is under investigation.
It should be remembered that he is also accused of attacking Libya as a pretext when the Libyan president Muammar Gaddafi refused to give more money, in return for which Nicolas Sarkozy won the election and became the president of France. As a result, thousands of innocent people were killed, and Libyan President Muammar Gaddafi was killed and his family taken prisoner.
