A Pakistani becomes the first mayor in France

Paris (Imran Y. CHOUDHRY):- An important and historic moment for the Pakistani community living in France was witnessed when Pakistani-origin political leader Omar Yaqoob formally took the oath of office as mayor. He was elected mayor of the Paris suburb of Creil in the recent local elections, and this success has attracted attention not only locally but also internationally.

The solemn oath-taking ceremony was held at the Creil town hall, in which a large number of people from different walks of life, including the Pakistani community, attended. The participants greatly appreciated this historic achievement and expressed their best wishes for Omar Yaqoob.

In his first address, the newly elected Mayor Omar Yaqoob thanked the people and expressed his determination that his top priorities would include the development of the city, solving public problems and promoting harmony between different communities.
